Yoga

My quest to heal and transform on all levels; physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, has led me to India. I come here many months a year to receive the true gifts of Yoga, as they are meant to be given.

Yoga, as described in the Patanjali Sutras, is so much more than just physical poses—it’s a journey to discovering who we truly are. At its core, yoga is about calming the endless chatter of the mind (chittavrittinirodhah) to find inner stillness. It’s like turning a stormy ocean into a clear, peaceful lake, where our true essence shines through.

The word yoga means “union,” and it’s all about reconnecting with the universal flow of life. Patanjali lays out the Eight Limbs of Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga), starting with ethical living (yamas and niyamas), physical postures (asanas), and breathing techniques (pranayama), and moving inward through concentration, meditation, and blissful absorption (samadhi). Each step helps us peel back the layers of ego and distraction, revealing the peace and freedom that’s always been within us.

Yoga isn’t about escaping life but embracing it with clarity, joy, and compassion. It’s a way to live from the heart rather than the chaos of the mind, showing us that the peace we seek has always been right here, waiting to be rediscovered. It’s a practice, a path, and ultimately, a celebration of the union between ourselves and the infinite.

The practice styles I teach are Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Traditional Kundalini Yoga.
